Hello!

During my recent live stream, I touched upon a subject you frequently ask me about – stomach issues. It turns out that what we feel in our body is inextricably linked to our emotions and how we perceive the world.

The Stomach as a Mirror of Our Daily Life

From a biological perspective, the stomach reflects how we accept reality and how we "digest" and assimilate our daily experiences. It is an organ that shows how we handle new concepts and situations that life presents to us.

The key word for stomach ailments is misunderstanding. Often it involves situations where we cannot stomach something that has come to us—an event, a word, or a behavior. If vomiting occurs alongside digestive problems, an aspect of rejection is added—something is so difficult for us to accept that we subconsciously want to throw it out of ourselves.

Key: Misunderstanding

The stomach is a mirror of your acceptance of reality. Ask yourself: what in this event can't I "stomach"?

The Wisdom of Language: What's "Sitting on Your Stomach"?

Common idioms like "hard to swallow", "sitting on my stomach", or the need to "digest some information" aren't just metaphors. They literally describe the state of our digestive system when dealing with emotional situations. The body doesn't distinguish between a piece of food and a "piece" of emotional conflict.

Conflict Between Female and Male

What is extremely important to remember is that the stomach often reacts primarily to misunderstandings between people of different genders. This could be a wife–husband, daughter–father, mother–son, or sister–brother relationship.

If the conflict involves people of the same gender, biology usually manifests it through duodenum issues, which is a entirely different topic. In the case of the stomach, we always look for that "something" we don't understand in the behavior of a person of the opposite gender or moments where we feel misunderstood by them.

Gender Principle

The stomach reflects relationships with the opposite gender. Look for misunderstandings between male and female in your life.

Emotional Hunger and Unfulfilled Desires

The stomach is also related to the hunger conflict—but not just physical hunger. We're talking about hunger for love, care, and contact. Problems arise when our daily life is in conflict with our true needs and desires.

Often these ailments are linked to unmet emotional needs, such as the need for contact with a parent or a sense of being loved. This emotional "hunger" later materializes in the form of specific stomach conditions.

Hunger for Closeness

Often what we take for physical pain is the body's cry for love, care, and a sense of security.

Holding onto the Past

Do you find yourself feeling anxious and irritated about a situation? It's a sign that something is "sitting on your stomach." Often this is related to holding onto the past—difficulty in digesting thoughts or feelings from years ago.

Stomach problems can stem from difficulty in forgiving—both others and oneself. Sometimes we simply cannot "get over" a decision made and keep reproaching ourselves for it, not allowing the system to close that process.

Mini-Exercise: Listening to Your Body in 60 Seconds

When you feel tension in your stomach, place both hands on it, take a deep breath, and close your eyes. Ask yourself: "What am I unable to accept right now?" Simply acknowledging the emotion brings relief.

Questions to Ask Yourself

If you feel your stomach is trying to tell you something, try to calmly answer these questions to help find the cause of the conflict:

  1. What in my current life situation can I not stomach?
  2. Who (or myself) do I have the most difficulty forgiving?
  3. Where do I feel my needs for care and love are currently unmet?
  4. Is there a new situation or concept in my life that I don't understand or can't assimilate?
  5. Do I feel a conflict between my daily life and my true desires?

Understanding the biological sense of signals from our body is the first step towards letting go of the past and moving forward.
