Do you feel like you constantly have to fight for your own in at work or home? That you have to work twice as hard for everything you have and literally "elbow your way" through life? If you also experience elbow pain, know that it is probably not a coincidence.
We usually think of the elbow simply as one of the joints, but in Recall Healing, it is a fascinating tool for making room for oneself in the world. When we "elbow our way," we make space for ourselves – to live or to work. The elbow directly symbolizes our self-esteem related to action and how we push our way through life.
If you feel pain in this area, your body is most likely communicating something to you about your duties, work, or how much effort you have to put in to achieve your goals.
Active Phase and Healing Phase
In Recall Healing, every conflict is divided into two phases.
- Active phase: This is the moment when we experience a conflict – for example, we feel hopeless in the work we do. This may lead to bone and joint weakness and tissue damage. The elbow is weaker and prone to injury then.
- Healing phase: When we work through the conflict (or it becomes obsolete on its own), the body starts to regenerate. Paradoxically, the appearance of pain is often good news – your body communicates that the conflict is just resolving. This is exactly when pain, inflammation, and swelling appear – the organism rebuilds the damaged tissue to strengthen the elbow and make it stronger for the future.
- Watch out for the loop trap (hanging conflict)! Pain does not always mean the problem is gone forever. If you go to work in the morning and feel the pressure again, and in the evening you "let go" on the couch, your body loops between the active and healing phases. This is why elbow pain is often chronic. Physical rest is not enough if your automatic brain still feels threatened.
Right or Left Elbow? The Side Matters!
Which elbow hurts can be closely related to our laterality (handedness). For right-handed people:
- Right elbow is associated with the conflict: "I have to do this job, but I don't feel up to it / I don't want to do it / it tires me out."
- Left elbow relates to the situation: "I want to do something, I really care, but I can't handle it / I'm bad at it."
For left-handed people, the meaning of the sides is reversed.

- Ulna – Your front line: The ulna is our first line of defense. When we fall or protect our face from a blow, we reflexively shield ourselves with this bone. Pain in this area often means a conflict: "I can't fend off the blow, I can't defend myself." It appears when we feel helplessness and lack of independence.
- Ulnar nerve – fear and authorities: Nerves in the body are responsible for communication. Ulnar nerve pain may mean that the flow of information is failing somewhere. These conflicts are often tinged with fear and may be related to relationships with the father or another authority.
- Elbow joint and its three connections:
- Humeroulnar joint (distance): Responsible for bending and straightening. The conflict concerns distance – we hesitate whether to leave or stay; whether to pull someone close to us or push them away. Pain can mean that we miscalculated the distance (e.g., we let someone get too close) and now we regret it.
- Humeroradial joint (agreements and rules): Associated with social and religious rules, agreements, and vows. Injury in this place may result from a rejected request (e.g., for a raise), broken promises, fraud in contracts, or betrayal in a relationship.
Tennis Elbow – When Ambition Meets the Fear of Failure
The third connection in the joint is the so-called tennis elbow (pressure). It is directly related to the belief: "I have to be great, but I feel I won't manage." It concerns people (not only athletes!) who put 100% of their heart and commitment into something, but are terrified of failure.
Crawling Syndrome and the Hidden Dagger
It is worth mentioning two more interesting aspects. Elbow pain can be emotionally related to a situation from the past in which we had to "grovel" before someone or literally crawl (physically, intellectually, or sexually) to survive.
On the other hand, the styloid process of the ulna resembles a small dagger – an old assassin's weapon. In Recall Healing, its pain may symbolize a repressed, subconscious desire to eliminate someone aggressive who poses a threat to us or our loved ones.
Self-diagnosis Questions
If you struggle with elbow pain, ask yourself a few important questions and look for an honest answer:
- Where in your life do you feel you need more space for yourself?
- In what situation do you feel you have to "elbow your way"?
- Who or what do you want to move away from?
- Who do you want to defend yourself or your loved ones against?
If these questions struck a chord with you, remember that awareness is the first step to change. You don't have to fight your whole life or push with your elbows, causing yourself pain. If you want to take a closer look at your patterns and free your body from the survival mechanisms recorded in it, I invite you to an individual consultation. Together we will look at what your body is trying to tell you.
