Diabetes in the Light of Recall Healing

Why does your body decide to retain glucose in the blood? About the hidden conflict of resistance and constant readiness to fight.

Recall Healing 10 min read July 27, 2026

There are people who do everything “by the book” — they eat healthily, exercise, and monitor their blood sugar. And yet, the body somehow refuses to cooperate. Recall Healing asks in such moments not “what did you do wrong”, but “what in your life has been requiring constant vigilance and struggle for a long time?”

Today we will look at what may lie behind diabetes in the light of Recall Healing. If you want to learn about insulin resistance, read our post here.

The brain strives to find a biological solution for every unresolved emotional conflict.

Fuel for Our Strength

From an evolutionary standpoint, sugar serves as immediate fuel in the body – it powers the muscles in situations of threat, when we need to fight, flee, or react instantly. When the brain receives the signal: "Attention, a fight is in the air! You must be ready!", biology decides to accumulate as much of it as possible in the blood – as a reserve.

Key Emotions: Resistance and Repugnance

In Recall Healing, the state in which we are stuck, maintaining persistently elevated blood sugar, does not appear by accident. It often means a deep sense of readiness for action, which in our psychic life takes the form of strong emotional conflicts.

Most often, we can see a combination of two extremely powerful feelings here:

Resistance Conflict: A very strong feeling that I must resist something or someone every day. It's a constant necessity to be careful, to be on guard, to watch out.

Repugnance Conflict: Feeling a strong disgust or internal revulsion toward a situation, demands, or behaviors of other people in our environment.

In short, the body receives a signal from our psyche: "I am putting up enormous resistance against something that fills me with deep repugnance".

An important nuance:

In the case of diabetes, the resistance conflict is always dominant (twice as strong as the repugnance conflict). We are talking about a very strong resistance tinged with disgust. This is known as a masculine type of conflict (meaning it has an active, fighting character, not that it only affects men). Such a person is in a state of constant, active readiness for a clash.

🔍 Pause for a moment and ask yourself...

1

Who or what do you resist most in your life?

2

Is there something – or someone – that triggers a feeling of deep disgust or injustice in you?

3

Is your “home” – be it family, relationship, or work – a safe place for you, or more of a battlefield?

Insulin and Sugar – Authority vs. Love

To feel this topic even more deeply, we must look at the role of the pancreas and insulin itself. Insulin is the key that opens the doors of cells, allowing the use of sugar. The symbolism of these two elements is extremely poetic:

Insulin

Is a symbol of authority, influence, dominance, or power.

Sugar

Is a symbol of tenderness, love, and the sweetness of life.

When a situation full of resistance and insensitivity appears in our life – often in a family environment that should be a haven of love – our body begins to inhibit insulin production. This is a subconscious, biological attempt to avoid the destructive influence of "authority" and coercion. Instead, the body tries to keep as much sugar as possible in the blood because it associates it with the sweetness, goodness, and tenderness that it so desperately misses in the real world.

Retaining sugar is also a very literal signal that you lack the warmth, peace, and tenderness you are used to. When this external, life source of "sweetness" suddenly disappears or becomes toxic, the brain decides to produce and retain its biological substitute. All this to protect you from total emotional emptiness.

In Recall Healing, it is observed that diabetes often activates in moments when physical or emotional division of the family occurs. Such a split can happen during a divorce, division or loss of property, separation of children, or another situation where the family becomes divided. A family rift then occurs, which often manifests as living in several homes.

Understanding as a Path to Liberation

Real-life examples show how precise our subconscious is. Situations can vary – from children who constantly defend themselves against punishment and rigid rules, to adults who for years accumulate internal opposition in relationships or at work.

Biology creates this situation in order to survive. The brain strives to preserve life's sweetness within us – even at the cost of elevated blood sugar.

How to Begin Working with This Topic?

Working with the emotional conflicts behind diabetes doesn't have to be overwhelming. It usually starts with three steps:

1. Acknowledge

Name your resistance. Who or what is it directed at? How long has it been part of your life?

2. Feel

Instead of fighting the emotion – allow it to surface. The body wants to be heard, not silenced.

3. Explore

Seek the original source – with the help of a specialist, you can trace back to the moment the conflict began.

If reading this article made you feel that something here applies to you – that is exactly the moment from which you can begin. I invite you to a session where together we will explore what your body is trying to tell you and where the original source of this tension lies.
