Discover the emotional sources of your pain

Recall Healing Psychosomatics 12 min read January 3, 2026

Have you ever wondered why a headache strikes you most often on Saturday morning or on the first day of vacation? In Recall Healing nothing happens without a cause. Pain is not a mistake of nature, but a biological message attempting to draw your attention to a specific emotional conflict.

Intellectual trap: Head instead of heart

Migraines most often affect people who excessively escape into the sphere of intellect. Instead of experiencing emotions and allowing themselves to feel, they try to analyze and solve every problem solely through thinking. It is a kind of cutting off from signals coming from the body – an attempt to find a way out of every situation "with the head", while simultaneously denying oneself the right to authentic feeling.

Two phases of pain: How to read the type of pressure?

In Recall Healing, the disease has two phases, and the type of pain tells us at what moment of the process we are:

  • Squeezing pain (clamp-like): Felt as a tightening of a band on the head. It appears in the active phase, when you are intensely looking for a solution to a problem and feel anxiety about reality.
  • Pulsating pain: This is a sign that you have entered the repair phase. It appears when you finally "let go" – after work, on the weekend or on vacation. The brain then begins to regenerate, which causes swelling and pressure, felt precisely as pulsating.

Map of your head – what does the location of pain say?

The place where you feel pain points to the nature of your internal conflict:

  1. 🧠 Frontal lobe (above the eyes): Symbolizes powerlessness. It appears when you feel that you are taking initiative, giving orders, but despite your efforts nothing changes.
  2. 👂 Temples: Often associated with feelings of disgrace, shame or sexual conflicts.
  3. 🔙 Occiput (back of the head): This is the area of the past and what is behind us. Pain here means a lack of acceptance for past events that we cannot "get over" on an intellectual level. It can also mean a fear of "attack from behind" – something that threatens us behind our backs. It is strongly linked to self-esteem and the feeling of being "not good enough".
  4. ↔️ Sides of the head (Laterality): For right-handed people, the left side concerns femininity (relationship with mother, daughter or own femininity, another woman), and the right side concerns masculinity (relationship with father, partner, son, another man). In left-handed people, these meanings are reversed.

Migraine as a biological "handbrake"

If you belong to people who are constantly chasing their own tail and are afraid to stop, the body may use a migraine as a safety brake. The pain forces you to lie down in the dark and rest, which you do not give yourself the right to experience. It is worth asking yourself: "Do I give myself permission to rest only when I am sick?"

Toxic relationships and headaches

Headaches are associated with intellectual devaluation. They often occur in people who have contact with manipulators or narcissists. The head starts to hurt because "we can't wrap our heads around" why we endure criticism, hurtful words and attacks on our sense of self-worth.

Practical tips

If the pain is pulsating (repair phase), cold compresses may be helpful. Cold constricts blood vessels, reducing regenerative swelling in the brain and alleviating symptoms. It is also worth paying attention to the female monthly cycle – a lack of hormonal balance will be felt in the form of headaches and migraines, and it is worth looking into this topic.
