5 patterns causing suffering in your relationships (and how to decode them).
A guide to regaining emotional autonomy.
Do you remember that moment when you felt a deep disappointment with a loved one's behavior? When the thought crossed your mind: "How could you do this to me? I trusted you so much".
Why do we so often feel hurt, misunderstood, and rejected by those close to us? From the perspective of Recall Healing and subconscious work, the answer is brutally honest: very often, what hurts us has little to do with the other person, but with our own projection of them.
Instead of seeing a partner, a boss, or a parent for who they really are, we overlay them with filters of our own unmet childhood needs. And when that illusion breaks – the pain appears. However, this pain is not a reason for self-pity. It is your greatest ally and a signal to awaken.
In this short guide, we will go through the 5 most common patterns our ego falls into. We will unmask the traps we set for ourselves so you can regain emotional autonomy and start building relationships with real people, not with their illusions.
Ready to awaken? Let's begin.
Pattern 1
Why does the ego love to suffer?
Have you ever wondered why it is so hard for us to leave difficult relationships, stop complaining about the boss, or end a toxic friendship? Logic says: "if something hurts you, walk away". However, the subconscious has a completely different opinion.
The ego doesn't choose what is good. The ego chooses what is familiar. And being a victim, though painful, carries powerful, hidden benefits.
Free attention and sympathy: When you suffer, you become the center of attention. Friends listen, your partner feels guilty, the world stops for a moment. For the wounded inner child, this is a substitute for love.
Lack of responsibility for change: The victim doesn't have to do anything. Since "it's their fault" (the government, the boss, the husband), I can sit and wait for them to change. It's an illusion of safety.
Sense of moral superiority: "I suffer, therefore I am better". The victim's position allows us to look down on our "oppressors", building our self-worth on the foundation of being a martyr.
Task for You:
Ask yourself an honest question: What hidden benefit do I get from still playing the victim in this specific relationship? What wouldn't I have to do if I took full responsibility for how I feel?
Pattern 2
Do you love the person, or your idea of them?
Projection is a powerful defense mechanism. We project our fears, expectations, and desires onto the screen that the other person becomes.
If you lack a sense of security, you will immediately see a "rock and support" in a new partner, even though they themselves might be full of their own fears. As long as the other person fits our vision, the relationship flourishes. The problem arises when reality knocks on the door.
We expect unconditional understanding, getting angry at the vision of an "ideal parent" that they – often full of their own traumas – will never fulfill.
We project the authority of a father onto him, expecting praise, and break down when he reacts with simple cold professionalism.
Yes, it is harder to say: "My judgment of you was untrue", than to accuse: "You let me down". But it is the only path to freedom.
Pattern 3
Why does giving yourself up destroy relationships?
In Anthony de Mello's book, a woman claims she would like to be loved at the expense of another person's happiness. The author brilliantly points out: "She would love me at the expense of her happiness, and I would love her at the expense of my happiness. And so, as a consequence, we would have two miserable beings."
Many of us have been taught that love is giving yourself up for the sake of another person. This is a massive lie. Sacrificing your passions, sleep, or career "for the good of the relationship" creates the most destructive emotion: the hidden bill.
When you give yourself up, your subconscious automatically issues an invoice. You start expecting payment in the form of gratitude, loyalty, or submissiveness from your partner. And when this payment does not arrive, anger appears.
Healthy egoism is not a sin. It is your duty. Only by giving yourself love and respect do you have something to give others. Two unhappy people will never build a happy home.
Pattern 4
Why do we want to change other people so much? We criticize how a partner loads the dishwasher, how a sister raises her child, how a boss manages a team. In Recall Healing, control always stems from fear.
When you try to control others, you are actually trying to master your own internal anxiety.
The antidote to this is the "Let Them" Theory.
Your partner doesn't want to go to the party?
Let them.
Don't create an ideology that they don't love you.
A friend replies dryly?
Let her.
Don't waste energy overthinking it.
Someone has a bad opinion of you?
Let them.
That's their perception, not your problem.
Stop saving people who didn't ask to be saved. Stop fighting reality. Instead of focusing on what others are doing, direct all your energy onto how You will react to it. This is the only area over which you have real power.
Pattern 5
Reaction vs. Conscious Response
Someone says a word, and your blood immediately boils. You start screaming, crying, running away, or attacking. Only an hour later comes the reflection: "I let myself be provoked again".
From the perspective of neurobiology and Recall Healing, it wasn't You who reacted – it was your reptilian brain and survival programs saved in your cells (cellular memory cycles).
The pause.
That's the split second between the stimulus (something happened) and the action.
The next time you feel a hot flush during an argument, take a deep breath and say out loud: "I need 5 minutes before I answer you".
During this time, ask yourself: What really hurt me? What belief of mine was touched? By stepping out from the level of biological reaction to the level of a conscious observer, you regain control over your life.
While reading about any of these patterns, did you feel a knot in your stomach, tension in your neck, or a racing heart?
Your body already knows.
All these "interpersonal hallucinations" are defense programs we installed in the past to survive. But what once protected us, today traps our energy. In Recall Healing, we know that unresolved emotional conflicts will sooner or later manifest in the body as pain, fatigue, or even chronic illness.
These 5 patterns are just the tip of the iceberg. The real cause lies deeper – in your programming conflict.
You don't have to fight this alone. As a Recall Healing consultant, I will help you find the exact moment when this pattern started for you. Understanding the biological logic behind your emotions and symptoms is the key to regaining harmony in your body.
Sending warm hugs, see you at the session!
